WHO IS
HYPER FENTON?
Hyper Fenton, also known as Seth Fenton, is a Christian musician, pastor, speaker and creator serving in Plano, Texas, and known by many viewers from his years creating with JStu.
I don’t primarily think of myself as an artist, creator, musician, influencer, or even a pastor. I’m a disciple and servant of Jesus first. All the other stuff is just tools God can use.

I want to use creativity to help call and empower people to follow Christ and live biblically. And yes, I’m usually working on something slightly ridiculous in an attempt to point people toward Jesus.

THE

When God is first, He has a way of putting everything else in the right order. So that’s why my family comes next.
I grew up watching my dad, Dr. Scott Fenton, and my mom, Judy Fenton, be the real deal.
They loved Jesus first, and because of that, they knew how to love our family and serve the church in the right order.
I never felt like they missed a single important moment in my life, and I think if you asked the people they served at church, they’d tell you they felt deeply loved too.

Kelly is my amazing best friend, and just as much a co-adventurer in this gospel journey. We were both at Plano East—Kelly was in band and I was an actor—and somehow we never met there. God brought us together later, and we were married on the Sea of Galilee.
She was there when acting and Los Angeles were on the table and I surrendered that future to follow Jesus into seminary and ministry. She was there as God kept opening doors for music and speaking. And when the JStu opportunity came, we prayed, surrendered, and moved to Colorado together.
We served the local church there, walked through the highs and lows together, and eventually put our yes on the table again when God led us back to Texas. Today we’re raising Wild and Shiloh, serving together, making things, and still learning that following Jesus is the greatest adventure we could choose.

The church is made up of imperfect people, but Jesus didn’t make a mistake when He made the local church vital to the life of a disciple. I want to be part of helping it flourish, serving it faithfully, and helping people find a real place to be known, loved, and discipled.

I serve as Associate Pastor and Student Pastor at Meadows Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Meadows is literally across the street from Plano East Senior High School—the same school Kelly and I both attended.

Some of the wildest, funniest, and most unforgettable years of my life happened with JStu. Justin, Andrew, and I became great friends, made a ton of videos, and somehow a lot of you still find me through those videos today.

Justin first reached out about making music around the JStu world, including “Must Have Snacks.” One opportunity became another, and eventually Kelly and I prayed about moving to Colorado Springs so I could create with JStu full-time. We put our yes on the table and went. I also kept serving in a local church while we were in Colorado. Going was obedience. Leaving later was obedience too. I still talk to Justin and Andrew, and we still make videos together when the project and timing fit.

Why did Hyper Fenton leave JStu?
Going to JStu and leaving JStu were both decisions Kelly and I prayed through and surrendered to Jesus. JStu was an amazing opportunity and one of the wildest seasons of my life. Later, God led us into a different season and back to Texas. I don’t see one season as “ministry” and the other as something less spiritual—I was serving in a local church in Colorado too. Both moves were acts of obedience.
What happened to Hyper Fenton from JStu?
I kept following Jesus into the next part of the adventure. Today that includes music, YouTube, preaching, speaking, family, and serving as Associate Pastor and Student Pastor at Meadows Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
Is Hyper Fenton still in JStu?
Not as a full-time team member in the way I was during that original season. But Justin, Andrew, and I are still friends, I still talk to them, and I still pop into videos and projects when it makes sense.
Did Hyper Fenton rejoin JStu?
I haven’t returned to the exact old full-time role. I’ve continued collaborating and showing up in the JStu world, which is why you may still see me in newer videos and projects.

Yes. Justin, Andrew, and I became great friends during those years, and the friendship didn’t disappear when my full-time role changed.
